Carnivorous plants are like no others within the plant kingdom, mainly native to north America (excluding Nepenthes). They occur in the wild in low nutrient environments but have adapted to deal with this problem by consuming insects. Due to this adaptation they are also very sensitive to fertiliser, it is recommended that you do not feed your plants ever with any liquid or granular feed as this could quite easily kill them. Instead feed them bugs.
