On arrival, open the packaging to your new plants. Majority of our plants are plug size and will need potting on before planting in the ground. To pot them on fill a pot (around 9cm wide) with a general multipurpose compost, then carefully transfer the plants into this new pot. Water them at this point until you see water coming out the bottom of the pot. For the first few weeks you might not see much growth as the plant will be developing more roots beneath the compost. Keep your plant on a bright sunny windowsill or in a greenhouse and water when the compost is dry. Once the roots have reached the bottom of the pot they are now ready to be planted outside into the ground or into a bigger pot.
Note; If using peat free compost, take extra care with watering as the root may be wet and the surface dry. To help ensure your plants aren't overwatered pop your finger tip first in the compost up to your knuckle. If the tip of your finger is dry then water, if its wet leave the watering for another day and then retest.
