This amazing perennial plant likes full to half shade with well-draining soils, hardy down to -7C
On arrival pot your plug plant(s) into a 9cm pot. A multipurpose potting mix in combination with bark/perlite/vermiculite is extremely important to aid drainage as this species is very prone to root rot.
Once root bound in a 9cm pot we would recommend potting into a 14cm pot, after this, the plant can be planted outside.
Never water the plant from overhead/above when young. Place the pot in a shallow saucer of water every 1-2 weeks to enable the medium to draw sufficient water for the roots at the base.
Place the pot somewhere cool in half shade and not in direct sunlight. In winter leave in an unheated glasshouse. NEVER bring it into the house in winter as this stops the dormancy period required, and even if cold, easily hardy down to -5c as a plug.
