This species like I.confusa has that bamboo-like image to it, however, I. wattii can get much bigger, reportedly 2.5m tall, and for an iris, that's huge! It is fairly easy to grow, loves full to half sun with well-draining soil, hardy down to -5c probably a little more. Works well in containers or by a patio.
